“The Legacy Robe is one of the biggest honors for a chorus member. In times when all the press, photos and other things around opening can make the ensemble feel a little less than, the Legacy Robe is a reminder about how important, incredible and special being a part of a Broadway ensemble is.
"Booking a Broadway show is a dream. And it makes you think, 'How did I get so lucky to be here?' But being presented with the Robe made me feel like this wasn't just a fluke. I have always looked up to so many people I have worked with or known in the industry, and to be awarded with such an honor that has put me into the same category as them is truly unbelievable.
"Going into Back to the Future opening night, I had done the math, and I knew it was in the cards for me to win. But even when you know your dream is coming true, in the actual moment it happened I still couldn't believe it was real. I still can't! And I couldn't feel more grateful to have the support of my cast and company with me. During the ceremony I was so honored to have some past Legacy Robe winners there, whom I also feel lucky enough to call my friends. I was also so excited for our debuters to get to witness this great tradition and all the excitement that comes along with it. And what proves to me how special this show is, was that our entire creative team and crew were all there to witness as well. Theatre is a team sport, and I am honored to be on this team. Also I just couldn't stop crying. Dreams come true.”
